These Halloween Chocolate Chip Cookies are a delightful treat for the spooky season, combining classic chocolate chip cookie goodness with festive Halloween colors and decorations.
Ingredients
Dough:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Mix-Ins:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup Halloween-colored M&M’s or candy-coated chocolates
- 1/4 cup festive sprinkles (optional)
- Candy eyeballs for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare baking sheets: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla: Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine wet and dry mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in mix-ins: Gently fold in chocolate chips and Halloween M&M’s.
- Scoop and bake: Scoop dough into balls, place on baking sheets, and top with extra M&M’s, sprinkles, and candy eyeballs. Bake for 9–11 minutes.
- Cool and enjoy: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra chewiness, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
