Ingredients
For the Bars:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
For the Topping:
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: Cream together butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients.
- Add Oats and Bake: Stir in oats and spread batter in prepared pan. Bake for 20–25 minutes until set.
- Add Chocolate: Sprinkle chocolate chips on top immediately after removing from oven. Spread melted chocolate evenly.
- Add Topping: Melt peanut butter and drizzle over chocolate. Combine powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze. Drizzle over bars.
- Cool and Serve: Let bars cool completely before cutting into squares.
