Description

Indulge in the heavenly combination of peanut butter, oats, and chocolate with these Halfway to Heaven Peanut Butter Bars. A perfect treat for any occasion, these bars are easy to make and utterly delicious.


Ingredients

For the Bars:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: Cream together butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients.
  4. Add Oats and Bake: Stir in oats and spread batter in prepared pan. Bake for 20–25 minutes until set.
  5. Add Chocolate: Sprinkle chocolate chips on top immediately after removing from oven. Spread melted chocolate evenly.
  6. Add Topping: Melt peanut butter and drizzle over chocolate. Combine powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze. Drizzle over bars.
  7. Cool and Serve: Let bars cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes
