- 1 cup cooked white rice (warm)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon butter (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add a small amount of oil or butter.
- Crack the egg into the pan and fry it to your desired doneness (sunny-side up is traditional).
- In a bowl, place the warm cooked rice.
- Top the rice with the fried egg.
- Drizzle sesame oil and soy sauce over the egg and rice.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds, chopped green onion, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Optionally, stir everything together before eating for even flavor distribution.
Notes
- Use freshly cooked rice for the best texture.
- You can add kimchi, nori, or other toppings for extra flavor.
- Adjust soy sauce and sesame oil to taste preference.
