Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with this Grilled Cheese Burrito recipe that combines the best of both worlds – a crispy grilled exterior and a cheesy, flavorful interior. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

For the Burritos:

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup crushed tortilla chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil for grilling

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, then drain excess fat. Add taco seasoning and water, stir, and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until thickened.
  2. Assemble the Burritos: Warm the tortillas slightly to make them pliable. Layer each tortilla with rice, seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, sour cream, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, crushed tortilla chips, and chopped tomatoes if using. Fold in the sides and roll up tightly.
  3. Grill the Burritos: In a clean skillet over medium heat, melt butter or heat oil. Place the burritos seam side down and grill for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden and cheese is melted. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can swap ground beef for ground turkey or plant-based crumbles.
  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce for extra heat.
