Description

Green Onion Dip is the ultimate creamy, tangy, and herbaceous party favorite—brightened by fresh green onions and perfect with chips, veggies, or bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 34 green onions (white + green parts), finely sliced
  • Chopped chives (optional for extra garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, and lemon juice until smooth.
  2. Stir in sliced green onions (reserve a few for garnish). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour (or overnight) to let flavors meld.
  4. Before serving, give it a good stir. Taste and adjust with more salt, pepper, or lemon juice if needed.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with reserved green onions, chives, and optional paprika for color.

Notes

  • Use full-fat sour cream and mayo for best texture.
  • Chill time is key—don’t skip! Flavors deepen as it rests.
  • Sub Greek yogurt for sour cream to lighten it up.
  • For extra color, add fresh chopped parsley or dill.
  • Store in fridge up to 4 days; let sit 20 min at room temp before serving.
