Description
Green Onion Dip is the ultimate creamy, tangy, and herbaceous party favorite—brightened by fresh green onions and perfect with chips, veggies, or bread.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- 3–4 green onions (white + green parts), finely sliced
- Chopped chives (optional for extra garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Stir in sliced green onions (reserve a few for garnish). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and chill for at least 1 hour (or overnight) to let flavors meld.
- Before serving, give it a good stir. Taste and adjust with more salt, pepper, or lemon juice if needed.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and top with reserved green onions, chives, and optional paprika for color.
Notes
- Use full-fat sour cream and mayo for best texture.
- Chill time is key—don’t skip! Flavors deepen as it rests.
- Sub Greek yogurt for sour cream to lighten it up.
- For extra color, add fresh chopped parsley or dill.
- Store in fridge up to 4 days; let sit 20 min at room temp before serving.
