Description
A juicy, herb-filled turkey burger infused with Mediterranean flavor from feta, fresh herbs, lemon, and topped with crisp veggies and creamy tzatziki for a refreshing, flavorful twist on the classic burger.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Olive oil, for cooking
- Burger buns (whole wheat or brioche)
- Tomato slices, cucumber ribbons, lettuce leaves
- Tzatziki sauce, for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, feta, dill, parsley, red onion, garlic, lemon zest, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Form into 4 burger patties about 1/2 inch thick. Chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat or preheat grill. Cook burgers for 5–6 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- While burgers rest, toast buns on the grill or in the pan.
- Assemble burgers with tzatziki, cooked patty, tomato, cucumber, and lettuce. Add more tzatziki on top and serve.
Notes
- Make sliders or turn into a burger bowl with grains and veggies.
- Use ground chicken as an alternative to turkey.
- Freeze cooked patties for up to 2 months for easy future meals.
- Serve with Greek salad, lemon potatoes, or pita chips for a full meal.
