Description

Juicy chicken burgers bursting with Mediterranean flavor—infused with herbs, feta, spinach, olives, and garlic. A flavorful twist on a classic, perfect for weeknights, barbecues, or meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup kalamata olives, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • Burger buns or pita bread, toasted
  • Optional: lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, tzatziki sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, feta, spinach, red onion, garlic, olives, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat.
  2. Form into 4 equal-sized patties. Place on a plate and chill in the fridge for 15–20 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  3. Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook burgers for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While burgers cook, prep toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and toast buns or warm pita.
  5. Assemble burgers: place patties on buns or in pita, add toppings and a generous spoonful of tzatziki. Serve hot.

Notes

  • To keep patties from falling apart, chill before cooking and consider adding 1 tbsp breadcrumbs if the mix is too wet.
  • Use ground turkey in place of chicken for a variation with equally great flavor.
  • For a lighter meal, serve in lettuce wraps or as part of a salad bowl with hummus or tzatziki.
  • To freeze: shape raw patties and separate with parchment before freezing up to 3 months.
