Description

This Gooey Brownie Pie is a decadent, chocolate-packed dessert featuring a rich, fudgy center and a crackly top. Perfect for chocolate lovers, it combines melted butter and chocolate chips with a fluffy egg mixture and a hint of vanilla. Baked to perfection in a pie pan, it’s served with an optional drizzle of hot fudge sauce for extra indulgence.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For Serving

  • Hot fudge sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie plate or springform pan with non-stick spray to prepare for baking.
  2. Melt Butter and Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter together with 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each interval until the mixture is smooth. Let it cool slightly before the next step.
  3. Beat the Eggs: Using a hand mixer on medium-high speed, beat the eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl for about 3 minutes until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  4. Combine with Chocolate: Gradually pour the cooled chocolate and butter mixture into the beaten eggs while mixing on low speed. Continue until the mixture is fully combined and smooth.
  5. Add Dry Ingredients: Gently fold in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Afterwards, fold in the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips without overmixing.
  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pie plate or springform pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. The pie is done when the center is puffed and the top has a crackly texture but the center still jiggles slightly when shaken.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the brownie pie to cool completely at room temperature, which helps it set properly for slicing. Serve each slice drizzled with hot fudge sauce for an extra gooey treat.

Notes

  • The center should remain slightly jiggly after baking to maintain a gooey texture.
  • Be sure not to overmix the flour into the batter to keep it tender.
  • Cooling completely before slicing ensures cleaner slices and better texture.
  • You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark chocolate for a more intense chocolate flavor.
  • For a festive touch, add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking.
