Description

These Garlic Steak and Potato Foil Packs are a convenient and delicious way to enjoy a flavorful meal with easy cleanup. Tender sirloin steak and baby potatoes are seasoned with garlic, herbs, and spices, then cooked in foil packets either on the grill or in the oven. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a weekend cookout!

Ingredients

Steak and Potatoes:

  • 1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 pound baby potatoes, halved or quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Optional butter for finishing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill or Oven: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat or the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare Steak and Potatoes: In a large bowl, combine steak cubes and potatoes. Add olive oil, minced garlic, thyme, rosemary, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Assemble Foil Packs: Divide the mixture evenly among four large pieces of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Fold and seal each foil pack tightly.
  4. Cook: Grill the foil packs over direct heat for 10–12 minutes per side, or bake in the oven for 25–30 minutes until potatoes are tender and steak is cooked to desired doneness.
  5. Serve: Carefully open the foil packs, top with butter and parsley, and serve.

Notes

  • For even cooking, cut the potatoes into small, uniform pieces.
  • You can add sliced onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Use a meat thermometer if you prefer a specific doneness for the steak.
