Description

Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Rice Bowls feature succulent sautéed shrimp tossed in a rich garlic and Parmesan butter sauce, perfectly served over fluffy rice with fresh herbs and optional vegetables. This quick and easy dish is ideal for weeknight dinners and meal prep, delivering comforting flavors with a gourmet touch.

Ingredients

Shrimp and Seasoning

  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Sauce and Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Base and Garnishes

  • 3 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or jasmine)
  • Optional toppings: lemon wedges, steamed broccoli, spinach, or cherry tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp: Sprinkle paprika, salt, and black pepper evenly over the peeled and deveined shrimp to flavor them before cooking.
  2. Cook the shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the garlic butter sauce: Reduce the heat to medium, add butter and minced garlic to the same skillet, and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. If desired, stir in red pepper flakes for a hint of spice.
  4. Combine shrimp and sauce: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the shrimp and stir until the cheese melts and the shrimp are well coated.
  5. Assemble the bowls: Divide the cooked rice evenly among four bowls. Top each with the garlic Parmesan shrimp mixture, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and add optional vegetables or lemon wedges as desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and melting quality.
  • For a creamier texture, stir in 2 tablespoons of heavy cream along with the Parmesan cheese in the sauce step.
  • This dish is excellent for meal prep and can be stored refrigerated for up to 3 days.
