Description

This Garlic Parmesan Shrimp recipe is a quick and flavorful dish featuring large shrimp coated in a garlic, herb, and parmesan cheese mixture, then baked to perfection. Ready in just 13 minutes, it’s an easy and delicious meal perfect for weeknights or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Shrimp and Marinade

  • 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Garnish

  • Parsley, for garnish
  • Juice of one lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400ºF to ensure it reaches the right temperature for perfectly baked shrimp.
  2. Prepare Baking Sheet: Spray a large baking sheet with nonstick spray to prevent the shrimp from sticking during cooking.
  3. Make Marinade: In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, basil, onion powder, shredded parmesan cheese, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix well to create a flavorful coating.
  4. Coat Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade bowl. Gently toss the shrimp until they are evenly coated with the garlic Parmesan mixture.
  5. Arrange Shrimp: Lay the coated shrimp in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are spread out evenly for uniform cooking.
  6. Bake Shrimp: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and cook for 6-8 minutes, or until the shrimp are firm, opaque, and pink.
  7. Finish and Garnish: Remove the shrimp from the oven and immediately squeeze the juice of one lemon over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Use large shrimp for best flavor and texture.
  • Be careful not to overcook the shrimp as they can become rubbery.
  • Freshly minced garlic provides the best aroma but garlic powder can be substituted if needed.
  • Serve with crusty bread or over pasta for a complete meal.
  • Parmesan cheese adds a savory, cheesy flavor that complements the herbs and shrimp perfectly.
