Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 2/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
Flavorings
- 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the plain Greek yogurt and olive oil until the dough comes together.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes to relax the gluten.
- Make Garlic Butter: While the dough rests, combine the melted butter with the minced garlic in a small bowl and set aside.
- Shape the Flatbreads: Divide the rested dough into 6 to 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin oval or round shape, approximately 1/8 inch thick.
- Cook the Flatbreads: Heat a nonstick skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or until golden spots appear and the bread puffs slightly.
- Brush with Garlic Butter: Immediately brush the warm flatbreads with the prepared garlic butter, and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
- Serve: Serve the garlic flatbreads warm as a side for soups, dips, curries, or enjoy them on their own.
Notes
- Great as a side for soups, dips, or curries.
- To make this recipe dairy-free, substitute Greek yogurt with a dairy-free yogurt alternative and use plant-based butter instead of regular butter.
