Description

Garlic Butter Steak Fried Rice combines tender, marinated ribeye or sirloin steak with fragrant garlic butter-infused rice, enhanced by savory soy, sesame, and oyster sauces. This quick and flavorful stir-fry dish delivers a perfect balance of rich meaty goodness and aromatic rice, all cooked in a skillet for a satisfying weeknight meal.

Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 10 oz (280g) ribeye or sirloin steak, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Fried Rice:

  • 3 cups cooked rice, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, toss the steak cubes with soy sauce, olive oil, and black pepper. Allow the steak to marinate for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Cook the Steak: Heat a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak cubes and sear them for 2–3 minutes until browned on the outside but still tender inside. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: Reduce the heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute, making sure the garlic does not burn.
  4. Add Rice: Increase the heat to high and add the chilled cooked rice to the skillet. Toss the rice with the garlic butter, spreading it evenly to let it crisp up slightly for texture.
  5. Flavor the Rice: Pour in soy sauce, sesame oil, and oyster sauce. Mix thoroughly so that the rice is evenly coated with the sauces and heated through.
  6. Combine and Garnish: Return the cooked steak to the skillet, toss it together with the fried rice, and stir in the chopped green onions. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper according to taste.
  7. Serve: Transfer the garlic butter steak fried rice to bowls or plates and enjoy this savory, satisfying dish immediately.

Notes

  • Use chilled rice to prevent clumping and to achieve better texture when frying.
  • Adjust soy sauce and oyster sauce amounts based on salt preference and dietary needs.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a fried egg on top before serving.
  • Leftover steak or rice from previous meals can be used to speed up preparation.
  • Use a non-stick skillet or well-seasoned wok to prevent sticking and ease stirring.
