Ingredients
Steak Bites
- 1 lb sirloin steak (or ribeye), cut into bite-sized cubes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Optional: Red pepper flakes, to taste
Instructions
- Cut the Steak: Cut 1 lb of sirloin steak (or ribeye) into bite-sized cubes, roughly 1-inch pieces each, ensuring even cooking.
- Season: Generously season the steak cubes with salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavor.
- Heat Oil: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it’s hot and shimmering, ready for searing.
- Cook the Steak: Lay the seasoned steak cubes in a single layer in the hot skillet, avoiding overcrowding. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness, ideally medium-rare at about 130°F (54°C).
- Remove Steak: Transfer the cooked steak bites to a plate and set aside to rest briefly while you prepare the sauce.
- Melt Butter: Lower the skillet heat to medium and add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, allowing it to melt slowly without burning.
- Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being cautious not to let the garlic burn and turn bitter.
- Add Seasonings: Mix in the Worcestershire sauce, chopped fresh parsley, and optional red pepper flakes to infuse the butter sauce with vibrant flavor.
- Return Steak to Skillet: Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss thoroughly to coat them evenly in the luscious garlic butter sauce.
- Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired for a fresh touch.
Notes
- Use a cast iron or heavy-bottom skillet for the best sear on your steak bites.
- Do not overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming; cook steak in batches if necessary.
- Adjust garlic amount based on your preference for a milder or stronger flavor.
- For spicier bites, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
- Let the steak rest a few minutes before serving to retain juiciness.
- Serve with crusty bread or over mashed potatoes for a comforting meal.
