Description

This Garlic Butter Ground Turkey with Cauliflower Skillet is a delicious low-carb and gluten-free main course that’s quick and easy to prepare. Ground turkey is cooked to juicy perfection with fragrant garlic and butter, combined with tender cauliflower florets seasoned with smoked paprika and thyme for a flavorful and satisfying meal. Topped with Parmesan and fresh herbs, this skillet dish is perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 pound ground turkey

Vegetables

  • 1 medium head cauliflower (cut into small florets)
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

Dairy

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Oils & Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or green onions

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Turkey: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up as it cooks, about 6–8 minutes. Remove the turkey from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic and Onion: In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the minced garlic and diced onion. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant and softened, taking care not to burn the garlic.
  3. Cook the Cauliflower: Add the cauliflower florets to the skillet and season with smoked paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cauliflower is tender and develops a golden color.
  4. Combine Turkey and Cauliflower: Return the cooked ground turkey to the skillet and stir everything together. Cook for another 2–3 minutes to ensure it’s heated through and flavors meld.
  5. Finish and Garnish: Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese evenly over the skillet and garnish with fresh parsley or green onions before serving. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use pre-cut cauliflower florets to save time on preparation.
  • For an extra flavor boost, add a splash of fresh lemon juice or a pinch of red pepper flakes during cooking.
  • This dish is excellent for meal prep and reheats well in the microwave or on the stovetop.
