Description

Crispy, buttery bread rolled with smoky bacon and infused with garlic — an irresistible and easy-to-make appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices white or sandwich bread, crusts trimmed
  • 8 strips cooked bacon (preferably thick-cut)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon until just shy of crispy; it will finish crisping in the oven.
  2. Trim crusts off the bread and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
  3. Melt butter and stir in minced garlic. Add parsley or seasoning if using.
  4. Brush one side of each bread slice with garlic butter.
  5. Place a strip of bacon on the unbuttered side, roll tightly, and place seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush tops with more garlic butter.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-18 minutes, turning halfway through until golden and crispy.
  8. Serve warm, optionally garnished with parsley or Parmesan.

Notes

  • Use real butter for the best flavor and browning.
  • Flattening the bread helps with rolling and crisping.
  • Use a baking rack for extra crispiness.
  • Serve with dips like marinara, ranch, or aioli.
