These Funnel Cake Bites are a delightful miniature version of the classic fair treat. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and dusted with powdered sugar, they are perfect for snacking or dessert.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 large egg
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Additional:
- vegetable oil (for frying)
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, beat the egg, then whisk in milk and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until a smooth, thick batter forms.
- Fry the Bites: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F. Drop small dollops of batter into the hot oil and fry for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Dust the warm bites with powdered sugar and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, try serving with chocolate sauce, caramel drizzle, or fruit preserves.
