Ingredients
Brownies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Frosting:
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder (for frosting)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs one by one, then mix in espresso powder and vanilla extract.
- Add dry ingredients: Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 28–32 minutes.
- Make frosting: Dissolve espresso powder in heavy cream. Beat softened butter with powdered sugar, then add espresso cream and mix until fluffy.
- Frost: Spread frosting over cooled brownies and refrigerate before slicing.
