Description

Ingredients

Brownies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Frosting:

  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder (for frosting)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs one by one, then mix in espresso powder and vanilla extract.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
  4. Bake: Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 28–32 minutes.
  5. Make frosting: Dissolve espresso powder in heavy cream. Beat softened butter with powdered sugar, then add espresso cream and mix until fluffy.
  6. Frost: Spread frosting over cooled brownies and refrigerate before slicing.
