Description

Frostbite Blue Christmas Cocoa is a rich and creamy hot chocolate with a festive twist, featuring white chocolate and a hint of vanilla, enhanced with a cool blue tint and topped with whipped cream and decorative white chocolate shavings or edible glitter for a magical holiday treat.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A few drops of blue food coloring

Toppings (Optional)

  • Whipped cream
  • White chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Combine Milk and Cream: In a medium saucepan, pour 4 cups of whole milk and 1 cup of heavy cream. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it is warm but not boiling to avoid scalding the milk.
  2. Add White Chocolate and Sugar: Add 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate to the warm milk mixture. Stir continuously until the chocolate has fully melted and combined into the mixture. If desired, add 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar to sweeten. Continue stirring until dissolved.
  3. Incorporate Vanilla and Color: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Add a few drops of blue food coloring to the cocoa mixture and stir gently until the color is evenly distributed, giving a beautiful Frostbite Blue hue.
  4. Serve and Decorate: Pour the hot cocoa into mugs. Top each serving with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with white chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or edible glitter for an extra festive and magical finish.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sugar to taste or omit for a less sweet cocoa.
  • Use high-quality white chocolate for the best flavor and smoothness.
  • Be careful not to let the milk mixture boil to avoid curdling or burning.
  • Edible glitter or sprinkles add a festive touch but can be omitted for a simpler presentation.
  • This recipe serves 4 and can be doubled easily for larger gatherings.
