Ingredients
Main Chili:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can chili beans, undrained
- 1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chiles
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Additional Ingredients:
- 4 cups Fritos corn chips
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional toppings: sour cream, diced red onions, sliced jalapeños, chopped green onions
Instructions
- Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
- Add Aromatics: Add the diced onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
- Mix in Ingredients: Stir in the chili beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Simmer over low heat for 10–15 minutes.
- Serve: Place Fritos on plates or bowls, spoon chili over chips, and top with cheddar cheese. Add desired toppings.

- For a larger group, assemble the Frito Pie in a baking dish and bake until bubbly.
