Ingredients
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas (sliced into 1/2-inch rounds)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until combined and bubbling, about 30 seconds.
- Add banana slices in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden and caramelized. Gently flip with a spatula to avoid breaking the slices.
- If using, stir in vanilla extract just before removing from heat.
- Serve warm on their own, over pancakes, French toast, ice cream, or oatmeal.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent them from falling apart while frying.
- Add a dash of nutmeg or drizzle with maple syrup for variation.
- Best enjoyed immediately.
