Description

These spicy and savory Fresno poppers are a perfect appetizer or party snack. Fresh Fresno chilies are stuffed with a creamy cheese filling, wrapped in bacon, and baked to perfection. These poppers are sure to impress your guests with their bold flavor and smoky richness!


Ingredients

  • 12 Fresno peppers

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon, crumbled

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

 

  • 12 slices bacon (for wrapping)


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Slice the Fresno peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.

  • In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until the mixture is well combined.

  • Stuff each Fresno pepper half with the cheese mixture, packing it in tightly.

  • Wrap each stuffed pepper with a slice of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.

  • Place the wrapped peppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melted.

 

  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!


Notes

  • For a spicier kick, leave some of the seeds in the Fresno peppers.

  • If you prefer, you can also grill these poppers for a smoky flavor.

 

  • Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese or add seasonings to the cream cheese mixture.
