  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese

Optional Toppings:

  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup or BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix Meatloaf Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, French onion soup, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Fold in shredded cheese.
  3. Shape and Bake: Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, shape into a loaf, and top with ketchup or BBQ sauce if desired. Bake for 50–60 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  4. Rest and Serve: Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for a lighter option.
  • Consider adding caramelized onions for extra flavor.
  • Leftovers are great for sandwiches.
