Ingredients
Ground Beef Mixture:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Broth and Noodles:
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed French onion soup
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can beef consommé or beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 8 ounces egg noodles
Additional:
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Ground Beef Mixture: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook onions until soft and golden. Add garlic and ground beef; cook until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Simmer: Stir in French onion soup, beef consommé, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Bring to a simmer.
- Add Noodles: Stir in egg noodles, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.
- Finish: Remove from heat, stir in sour cream, and season with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley before serving.

- For extra richness, add a splash of heavy cream with the sour cream.
