Ingredients
Brownie Ingredients
- 14 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 10 Tbsp bittersweet chocolate chips (Ghirardelli)
- 1¼ cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 10 Tbsp unbleached all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and lightly flour a 9-inch square baking pan to prevent sticking.
- Melt chocolate and butter: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter together with the bittersweet chocolate chips, stirring frequently to ensure a smooth, combined mixture. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, cream together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined and slightly thickened.
- Combine mixtures: Add the cooled chocolate and butter mixture to the creamed sugar and eggs. Mix thoroughly until fully blended.
- Add dry ingredients: Sift the all-purpose flour and pinch of salt directly into the chocolate mixture. Gently fold the batter until just combined and no dry flour remains.
- Bake the brownies: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared 9-inch square pan. Bake for approximately 33 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with only moist crumbs attached.
- Cool and serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan for about 1 hour. Once cooled, cut into 16 squares and serve.
Notes
- Ensure the chocolate and butter mixture is cooled before adding to the eggs to prevent curdling.
- Do not overmix the batter after adding flour to keep the brownies fudgy.
- Use high-quality bittersweet chocolate chips for richer flavor.
- For cleaner cuts, use a sharp knife warmed in hot water and wiped dry between cuts.
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
