Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Add eggs and vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Stir in the mini chocolate chips.
- Bake: Drop the dough by rounded teaspoons onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
- Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra crisp cookies like the original Famous Amos texture, bake on the lower end of the time range and use mini chocolate chips for that signature bite.
