Description

Indulge in these decadent Easy Turtle Bars featuring a buttery crust, rich caramel, crunchy pecans, and a chocolate topping. Perfect for holiday gatherings or a sweet treat any time!

Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)

For the Topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves or chopped pecans
  • 1 cup caramel bits or soft caramels (unwrapped)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Crust: In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
  3. Add the Toppings: Sprinkle the pecans over the crust. Combine the caramel bits and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave until smooth and drizzle over the pecans.
  4. Bake: Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the caramel bubbles. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Spread melted chocolate over the bars.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow to cool completely, then chill for easier slicing. Cut into bars and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a salted twist, sprinkle flaky sea salt over the melted chocolate.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
