Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups turkey drippings or low-sodium turkey/chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional dash of Worcestershire sauce or a splash of cream for added flavor

- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the turkey drippings or broth, making sure there are no lumps.
- Add the onion powder and garlic powder, and bring the gravy to a gentle simmer.
- Continue cooking and stirring for 4–5 minutes until thickened to your desired consistency.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. For added depth, stir in a dash of Worcestershire sauce or a splash of cream before serving.
Notes
- If your drippings are very salty, use a mix of drippings and unsalted broth.
- Gravy can be made ahead and gently reheated before serving.
- Add more broth if it becomes too thick.
