Description

The perfect mashup of crispy smash burgers and handheld tacos, these Easy Smash Burger Tacos combine juicy beef, melty cheese, and fresh toppings in a fun, quick-to-make format that’s sure to impress at any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 6 small flour tortillas
  • 6 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil or butter
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomato or pickles
  • 1/2 cup special sauce (mayo + ketchup + diced pickles or hot sauce)

Instructions

  1. Divide the ground beef into 6 loose balls. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Toast tortillas in a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side. Set aside and keep warm.
  3. In a hot skillet with oil or butter, place a beef ball, top with a tortilla, and smash flat using a spatula. Cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes until the edges are crispy.
  4. Flip so the beef is on top, immediately add cheese, and cook for 1 more minute until melted.
  5. Remove from skillet and top with lettuce, tomatoes or pickles, and special sauce.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use your favorite burger toppings like sliced jalapeños, red onions, or hot sauce for extra flair.
  • For a gluten-free option, use corn tortillas—just handle gently to avoid tearing.
  • Great for DIY parties—set up a toppings bar for guests to build their own tacos.
