- 500g ground beef or pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs
- 200ml milk
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp paprika (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
- Add the garlic and ground meat to the pan. Cook until the meat is browned, seasoning with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Spread the cooked meat mixture over the potatoes.
- Top with the remaining sliced potatoes to form a final layer.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden and the potatoes are cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

- You can use a mix of beef and pork for richer flavor.
- Let the moussaka rest for 10 minutes before slicing for better structure.
