Description

Ingredients

For the shrimp:

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the dipping sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp lime juice


Instructions

  1. Marinate the shrimp: In a bowl, combine the shrimp and buttermilk. Let it marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  2. Prepare the breading: In a separate bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the shrimp: Remove shrimp from buttermilk, dredge in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  4. Fry the shrimp: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F. Fry shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  5. Make the dipping sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sriracha, honey, and lime juice.
  6. Serve: Serve the popcorn shrimp hot with the dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to ensure a crispy coating.
