Description

Delicious and easy-to-make peanut butter chocolate chip bars that combine creamy peanut butter with rich chocolate chips for a perfect sweet treat. These bars are soft, chewy, and perfect for dessert or snacks.

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Add-ins

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, creamy peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix these ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla: Beat the eggs and vanilla extract into the peanut butter mixture until everything is well combined and the batter becomes smooth.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt to ensure even distribution of leavening.
  5. Incorporate dry into wet: Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet peanut butter mixture. Mix until just combined to avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips: Gently fold the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the batter to evenly distribute the chocolate throughout.
  7. Spread batter and bake: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool and serve: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 16 bars for serving.

Notes

  • For extra texture, stir in chopped peanuts or swirl additional peanut butter into the batter before baking.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
