Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Seasonings and Extras:

  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • lime wedges for serving


Instructions

  1. Heat the oil: In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium heat.
  2. Cook the rice: Add rice and cook for 4–5 minutes until golden brown.
