Description

A classic and easy-to-make meat lasagna recipe layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and melted mozzarella cheese, perfect for a comforting family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add marinara sauce to the cooked beef, stir, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce.
  7. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, 1/3 of the mozzarella, and another layer of sauce.
  8. Repeat layers two more times, ending with meat sauce and topping with Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes or until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Make ahead and refrigerate overnight for enhanced flavor.
  • Use no-boil noodles for quicker preparation.
  • Add chopped spinach to ricotta for extra nutrition.
