- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the chicken breasts on a baking dish and drizzle with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
- Pour marinara sauce over the seasoned chicken breasts, making sure each piece is covered.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil, if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use bone-in chicken if preferred; just increase the cooking time by about 10 minutes.
- Serve with a side of pasta or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
- For a lighter option, use reduced-fat mozzarella cheese.
