Description
This quick and classic guacamole recipe is creamy, zesty, and packed with fresh flavor. Made with ripe avocados, lime juice, onion, tomato, jalapeño, and herbs, it’s the perfect party dip or taco night essential.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
- 1/2 cup tomato, finely diced
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 small jalapeño, finely minced (seeded for less heat)
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- Optional garnishes: extra cilantro, flaky sea salt, lime wedge, sliced radishes, or chili powder
Instructions
- Halve and pit the avocados. Scoop the flesh into a medium bowl and mash to your preferred consistency (smooth or chunky).
- Drizzle lime juice over the mashed avocados to prevent browning and enhance flavor.
- Add red onion, tomato, cilantro, and jalapeño. Gently fold to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish as desired, and serve with chips or your favorite dishes.
Notes
- For cilantro-free guac, substitute chopped green onions or flat-leaf parsley.
- Press plastic wrap directly on the surface when storing to slow browning.
- Variations: add roasted corn, mango, pomegranate seeds, or cumin for creative twists.
