Ingredients

Ground Turkey Mixture:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce:

  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

To Serve:

  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ground Turkey Mixture: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper, cook until softened. Add garlic, then turkey, cook until browned. Drain excess liquid.
  2. Make the Sauce: Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until thickened.
