Description

This Easy Glazed Nuts recipe delivers a perfect sweet and buttery coating on toasted nuts, making a delightful snack or topping for desserts. With simple ingredients and quick preparation, you can enjoy a crunchy, flavorful treat in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 cup nuts (such as pecans, walnuts, almonds, or cashews)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cold butter (cut into about 6 small pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get ready for toasting the nuts.
  2. Toast the nuts: Spread the nuts evenly on a small baking sheet and bake them for 5 minutes or until they become fragrant and lightly toasted, enhancing their natural flavors.
  3. Prepare the glaze: Transfer the toasted nuts to the bottom of a 10-inch nonstick skillet. Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the nuts and scatter the pieces of cold butter on top. Turn the heat on to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts and the sugar is nearly dissolved.
  4. Glaze the nuts: Add the water to the skillet, increase the heat to medium, and continue cooking while stirring constantly for 2 to 3 minutes. Shake the pan occasionally to help cook off the water, allowing the glaze to thicken and coat the nuts evenly.
  5. Cool and separate: Pour the glazed nuts onto wax paper or foil and use a wooden spoon to separate them slightly. Let them cool completely so the glaze hardens and the nuts don’t stick together.

Notes

  • You can use any combination of your favorite nuts like pecans, walnuts, almonds, or cashews.
  • Make sure to stir constantly during glazing to prevent burning and ensure even coating.
  • Cooling the nuts on wax paper prevents them from sticking and helps maintain the crunch.
  • These glazed nuts can be stored in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
