Description

These Easy Funeral Potatoes are a classic and comforting side dish perfect for gatherings or potlucks. Creamy, cheesy, and topped with a crispy crust, they are sure to be a crowd-pleaser.


Ingredients

Main Dish:

  • 1 (30 oz) bag frozen shredded hash browns (thawed)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Topping:

  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes or potato chips
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the dish: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix the main ingredients: In a large bowl, combine hash browns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, melted butter, onion, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Spread the mixture: Spread the mixture evenly in the baking dish.
  4. Prepare the topping: In a separate bowl, mix crushed cornflakes or chips with melted butter. Sprinkle over the top of the mixture.
  5. Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes until hot and bubbly with a golden topping.
