- 8 oz linguine pasta
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and pour in heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes (if using), cooking until cheese melts and sauce thickens slightly.
- Add cooked linguine and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss until everything is well coated in the creamy sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results.
- Add a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness.
