Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Add-ins:
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix Dough: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges and slightly soft in the centers.
- Cool and Serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let them finish setting on the pan.
- You can chill the dough for 30 minutes to reduce spreading.
