Description

Indulge in the classic goodness of homemade chocolate chip cookies with this easy recipe that guarantees chewy, delicious treats every time.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Add-ins:

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Mix Dough: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges and slightly soft in the centers.
  7. Cool and Serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let them finish setting on the pan.
  • You can chill the dough for 30 minutes to reduce spreading.
