This Easy Cheeseburger Casserole is a delicious and comforting meal that the whole family will love. It’s a hearty dish made with ground beef, macaroni, and plenty of cheese, all baked to perfection.
Ingredients
For the Casserole:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Chopped pickles or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Add garlic, salt, pepper, ketchup, and mustard. Stir in tomatoes and broth.
- Add macaroni: Stir in the uncooked macaroni and cook until almost tender.
- Add cheese: Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Pour into a baking dish and top with remaining cheese.
- Bake: Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let cool, garnish if desired, and serve.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Add chopped dill pickles on top before serving for a true cheeseburger flavor.
- This dish reheats well for leftovers.
