A quick and easy beef teriyaki recipe featuring tender beef slices coated in a savory-sweet homemade teriyaki sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
- Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef slices and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the teriyaki sauce mixture. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Stir into the sauce and cook until thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
- Return the beef to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For extra tenderness, marinate the beef in some of the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
- You can substitute flank steak with sirloin or ribeye.
