Description

A quick and easy beef teriyaki recipe featuring tender beef slices coated in a savory-sweet homemade teriyaki sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef slices and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the teriyaki sauce mixture. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Stir into the sauce and cook until thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For extra tenderness, marinate the beef in some of the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
  • You can substitute flank steak with sirloin or ribeye.
