Description

These DoubleTree cookies are a famous treat known for their chewy texture and generous mix of chocolate chips and walnuts. Recreate the iconic hotel cookie experience at home with this easy-to-follow recipe.


Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of cinnamon

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice

Additional Mix-Ins:

  • 2 2/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 3/4 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in the eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Add Mix-Ins: Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
  7. Bake: Drop the dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.
