Description

Indulge in these decadent Double Chocolate Cookie Bars that are rich, chewy, and loaded with both semisweet and white chocolate chips. Perfect for satisfying your chocolate craving!

Ingredients

Cookie Bars:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract, mix well.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture and mix to form a dough.
  4. Add chocolate chips: Fold in semisweet and white chocolate chips.
  5. Bake: Press dough into pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
  6. Cool and cut: Let the bars cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For gooey bars, slightly underbake and allow them to finish setting as they cool.
  • Enhance flavor by sprinkling sea salt on top before baking.
