Description

Diablo Shrimp is a fiery and flavorful dish featuring plump shrimp tossed in a bold garlic-chili-lime sauce—perfect for spice lovers seeking a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced or minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in red pepper flakes, chili powder, and smoked paprika. Let spices bloom for 30 seconds.
  4. Add shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. Squeeze in lime juice and toss to coat the shrimp in the sauce.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with chopped cilantro, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Garnish with extra cilantro, green onions, or lime wedges for added freshness.
  • Serve over rice, with garlic bread, or in tacos for a complete meal.
  • Try presenting in lettuce cups, over crostini, or with avocado salad for variety.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge up to 2 days; reheat gently in a skillet with lime juice.
  • Freeze cooled shrimp up to 1 month; thaw overnight and reheat carefully to avoid rubbery texture.
