Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, to thicken gravy)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, milk, chopped onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the meat mixture into 12 to 16 meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the beef broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer.
- If you’d like a thicker gravy, mix the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry, then add it to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Once the meatballs are done, transfer them to the skillet with the gravy and simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes, allowing the meatballs to soak up the flavors of the sauce.
- Serve the Salisbury Steak Meatballs with mashed potatoes or rice, and spoon extra gravy over the top.
Notes
- If you prefer a gluten-free option, you can substitute the breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of heavy cream to the gravy.
- If you like your gravy extra savory, add a dash of onion powder or garlic powder to the sauce.
