Description

These Salisbury Steak Meatballs are a delicious, savory dish featuring tender meatballs served in a rich, flavorful gravy. A twist on the classic Salisbury steak, these meatballs make for a comforting and satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, to thicken gravy)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, milk, chopped onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the meat mixture into 12 to 16 meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add the beef broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  7. If you’d like a thicker gravy, mix the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry, then add it to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens.
  8. Once the meatballs are done, transfer them to the skillet with the gravy and simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes, allowing the meatballs to soak up the flavors of the sauce.
  9. Serve the Salisbury Steak Meatballs with mashed potatoes or rice, and spoon extra gravy over the top.

Notes

  • If you prefer a gluten-free option, you can substitute the breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of heavy cream to the gravy.
  • If you like your gravy extra savory, add a dash of onion powder or garlic powder to the sauce.
