Description

This Delicious Broccoli Recipe features tender, roasted broccoli florets tossed with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of spice, finished with fresh lemon juice and Parmesan cheese for a flavorful and healthy side dish perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Broccoli

  • 1 large head of broccoli (cut into florets)

Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for roasting the broccoli.
  2. Toss Broccoli: In a large bowl, combine broccoli florets with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using, tossing well to evenly coat all pieces.
  3. Arrange Broccoli: Spread the seasoned broccoli in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet to ensure even roasting.
  4. Roast: Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast the broccoli for 18 to 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges develop a crispy texture and the stems become tender.
  5. Finish and Serve: Remove the broccoli from the oven, immediately drizzle with lemon juice, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot as a side dish or atop rice or pasta for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, add a sprinkle of toasted breadcrumbs on top before serving.
  • This recipe works equally well with broccolini or cauliflower as a substitute for broccoli.
