Ingredients
Chicken and Marinade
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
Wrap Assembly
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Heat the oil and garlic: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to release its aroma without burning it.
- Cook the chicken: Add the chicken strips to the skillet along with paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Add lemon juice: Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the cooked chicken and toss to coat evenly, adding a fresh tangy flavor.
- Warm the tortillas: Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds until they become pliable and easy to roll.
- Assemble the wraps: Spread a spoonful of Greek yogurt or mayonnaise in the center of each tortilla. Layer with the cooked garlic chicken, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, thinly sliced red onion, shredded cheese, and chopped parsley.
- Roll and serve: Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it tightly into a wrap. Cut each wrap in half and serve either warm or chilled according to preference.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the chicken while cooking.
- You can substitute cooked rotisserie chicken to save time.
- Whole wheat or low-carb tortillas can be used as a healthier alternative.
