Ideal for busy weeknights or casual gatherings, this recipe is easy to prepare and sure to please kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Pizza Base

  • 1 (12-inch) pizza crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Beef Topping

  • ¾ lb ground beef
  • ½ small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Additional Toppings

  • ½ cup chopped dill pickles
  • 1 roma tomato, diced
  • shredded lettuce (for topping after baking)

Optional Garnishes

  • extra ketchup and mustard for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare Crust: Preheat your oven to 450°F. If using raw pizza dough, roll it out to the desired size and place it on a pizza stone or baking sheet. Lightly brush the surface with olive oil to create a crisp, golden crust.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef Mixture: In a skillet set over medium heat, cook the ground beef alongside the finely chopped onion until browned and fully cooked, about 6–8 minutes. Drain any excess grease to keep the pizza from becoming soggy. Stir in ketchup, yellow mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper thoroughly. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before assembling.
  3. Assemble the Pizza: Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the prepared pizza crust. Spread the seasoned beef mixture over the cheese layer. Top with the chopped dill pickles and diced roma tomato. Finish by sprinkling the remaining cheese evenly on top to create a delicious melty finish.
  4. Bake the Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown and the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly browned.
  5. Finish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to rest for a couple of minutes to set the toppings. Top with shredded lettuce and optionally drizzle with extra ketchup and mustard. Slice into pieces and serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • For an extra crispy crust, pre-bake the crust for 5 minutes before adding any toppings.
  • You can customize by adding cooked bacon, sliced jalapeños, or substituting pickles with pickle relish.
  • This pizza pairs wonderfully with a side of crispy fries or a cold soda for a complete meal.
